Project Highlights
• This project involved analyzing large quantities of data collected from volunteers and other consultants, including stream flow measurements, precipitation data, groundwater levels, surface water and groundwater quality data, and surface water and groundwater withdrawal data.
• Conducted an evaluation of water resources for Vashon and Maury Islands and prepared the Area Characterization Report for the Vashon-Maury Island Groundwater Management Plan.
• Conducted technical review of work performed by other environmental consultants.
• Evaluated water quality data from freshwater and sediments, marine water and sediments, and marine shellfish.
• Completed island-wide water budget.
• Conducted pumping tests to evaluate aquifer characteristics, variability of those characteristics across aquifers, and interactions between aquifers and between groundwater and surface water.
• Planned and supervised the drilling and installation of deep exploration boring to evaluate potential interconnectivity with off-island aquifers.
• Coordinated and participated in public involvement activities including presentations at public meetings and preparation of meeting agendas, fact sheets, and exhibits.
